Hula is the native dance of Hawaii and the Pacific. The graceful and enchanting movements of hula are often imitated at costume parties but all too rarely presented as a serious ethnic dance form.

Although the nuance of hula is unique, it does share interesting similarities with some Middle Eastern styles of dance. It should come as no surprise that Chicago belly dancer Shahina is also an interpreter of hula dance.

All of the performance options offered by Shahina are available in hula dance format as well as belly dance; adapted, of course, to authentically fit the hula style. A favorite for luaus, outdoor barbeques, pool parties and summer birthday and anniversary celebrations, a hula performance also brings the warmth of the islands to winter events!

As with all of Shahina’s performances, her hula shows are artistic, joyous, professional, and suitable for all ages. Performances are in professional costume appropriate for the venue. Shahina does not attempt to embarrass honorees or guests with vulgar or obscene dance moves, nor does she ”work the crowd” for tips.

Final prices will be quoted upon agreement as to the details of theperformance. Quoted prices are all-inclusive, meaning that no gratuity, travel or surprise expenses will be added after the fact. If applicable, they will be already included in the quotation.
