Have a costume or sewing project that has been sitting around for ages, but you just can’t seem to get motivated to finish it?

Maybe you are stuck because you can’t quite figure out how to do it. Perhaps you need an extra pair of eyes or hands. Perhaps you need someone to pin it while you have it on.

Maybe you bought a new costume but you can’t wear it until you get around to moving the hooks, or you need to hem it, but can’t figure out how to do it with the beading on the hem. Do you need a tool or a sewing machine and don’t want to invest in it right now?

Are you afraid to cut into that lovely piece of fabric you bought because you are scared of making a mistake?

We all have projects like that, and we all have different areas of expertise to share. Let’s set aside a few hours every month to make a dent in the accumulation of projects, help each other out, share tools brainstorm ideas, and enjoy the company of other belly dance artists over a cup of coffee or tea.

Saturday, June 12th 9 am until noon
Saturday, July 10th 9 am until noon …and Costume Clinic: Cover follows at noon
Saturday, August 14th 9 am until 2 pm: Potluck to celebrate Shahina's birthday!
Saturday, September 11th 9 am until noon …and Costume Clinic: Accessories follows at noon
Saturday, October 9th 9 am until noon …and Costume Clinic: Choli follows at noon
Saturday, November 13th 9 am until noon …and Costume Clinic: Wings follows at noon
Saturday, December 11th 9 am until noon
Saturday, February 12th 9 am until noon
Saturday, March 12th 9 am until noon

Place: Shahina's Studio in Glen Ellyn

Bring: Any costumes needing repair or fitting, knitting, beading, or other handwork type projects you would like to work on. Bring food to share if you like.

Workshop Fee: It is FREE!! So what are you hesitating for?
