Silk Veil Dyeing Workshop

Create your own silks under the guiding tutelage of Shahina. Shahina is internationally famous among Middle Eastern dancers for her unique hand-dyed silk veils and skirts.

There is no substitute for real silk for veils and costumes. When you dance with silk, the veil comes to life, floating around you and caressing your skin and drawing you deeper into the spirit of your dance.

What then could be more exciting than having a real silk veil that you have created yourself, in the colors and patterns of your own creation?

Saturday, August 9 at Noon — 3:00 pm

Place: Shahina's Studio in Glen Ellyn

Bring: All tools and materials will be supplied. Wear clothes that you don't mind ruining!

Workshop Fee: $60 per person (includes one scarf for practice and one veil.)
Additional silk items are available to dye. All items are 5mm silk habotai.

Your registration with payment must be made in advance so the proper materials will be on hand for the workshop.
