Welcome to Shahina's website. Here you will learn much about Middle Eastern dance as interpreted by Chicago's famous belly dancer Shahina. You will also find a great deal of information about the subject of Middle Eastern dance and culture in general.

There are hundreds of pages and links on this site. Doing some serious research on cultural issues? Just looking for pictures of a pretty girl? More likely, something in between? Whatever your goal, the two minutes you spend reading this page first will save you much time during the rest of your visit, and on return trips as well.

Navigating This Site In Depth

Every page on this site has a navigation bar, like the one you see in the left hand column of this page, with the same links to general subject areas of this site. With these links you are only a few clicks away from any page on this site. Remember that every page contains these links, so if you lose your bearings, look to the left. If these links aren't there, they will be at the bottom of the page instead.

Most pages follow the same layout, but there are exceptions to facilitate functionality. For those interested, here are the common exceptions:

The Home Page has a more detailed collection of left hand links
Galleries, primarily for displaying photographs, have links near the bottom.
Forms, primarily for submission of data, may have links at the bottom.
Student pages, primarily secure pages, have an expanded link set on the left.
Poetry pages (and other very deep pages) have both left and bottom links.
